“Shopping In Chains captures the zeitgeist more than any play in recent years. I laughed and cried. A recession play without the depression – irresistibly funny.”

“Full of that middle-aged self-righteous glow after a brisk walk on the pier, we repaired to the Promenade for the first time for coffees. It is literally next door to Teddys so finding it is definitely not a probelem.
As it was lunch time, I opted also for a very nice chicken caesar wrap to accompany the lattes while my better half went for the chocolate brownie which she declared to be excellent but too filling. A surprisingly nice and airy room, friendly and efficient service and a window seat caused us to linger perhaps somewhat longer than necessary. We will be back.”

” … I was worried that this place would not be baby friendly at all. I was wrong. I was greeted by a lovely woman who directed me where I could park my buggy and showed me to a table…
…Some age appropriate toys and books were delivered to my table to amuse Amelie while I had a peak at the delicious looking food on offer …”

“This cafe has been open about a month and this was my first visit. Parking is good as it is across the road there are a few tables outside which I like so I can sit and watch the world go by.
I would prefer if the food they have on offer was more an all day ‘thing’ instead of set times but then they are new. I ordered the Duck dish as it was on the menu – after a short debate of times and if I could order it as I was not in the right time. Waiter came back to say the duck was off the menu as it was finished ( at 12 noon?). On his suggestion I tried something else which was nice but I would have preferred the duck dish.
I popped inside to have a look and see what else is on offer and the place was busy and nicely laid out. The staff are very nice although they did get confused with our bill as we switched tables outside to sit under an umbrella - it was raining!
I ordered the waffle with some ice cream but waffles were ‘off’ so had a choc brownie instead with ice cream. My American friend declared it ‘dry’ so thank goodness we had the ice cream with it.
All in all nice place I would go again but they need to sort their menu out.”

“Been there today first time. Just for a coffee – sitting outside. Lovely (if you ignore the cars ;). Opening hours are now Monday to Sunday 9 – 6. Liked how they did the inside as well. They do the “normal” Cafe food (salads, quiche, fish cakes, Muffins, Cup Cakes, Coffee and so on) and Moevenpick Ice Cream. And wine. Didn’t check all prices. Coffee was normal price, found the ice cream a bit dear though (2.25 a scoop). Was nice to see how busy it was. Think it’s exactly what we needed here. Something to sit down, chat, enjoy the view – and the food :)”
